The Wrong Box by Robert Louis Stevenson and Lloyd Osborne
In this darkly comedic farce, the greedy Morris Finsbury will stop at nothing to secure his uncle's investment fortune. In a case of mistaken identity, he finds a body which he believes to be his uncle's. Seeking to conceal the fact of the man's death, Morris sends the body in a barrel by post to his own address. The labels are confused on the mail train and in short order an entire cast of outrageously-comedic characters find themselves enlisted in frantically seeking or concealing the unfortunate parcel.
The Wrong Box is a little-known book by a very well-known author. R.L. Stevenson, author of Treasure Island, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Kidnapped, wrote this uncharacteristic volume in collaboration with his stepson, Lloyd Osbourne.
